Memorial Day is America’s most solemn day. Originally meant to honor the 620,000 people who died in the U.S. Civil War, it has since become a national holiday upon which many reflect upon the brave men and women who died so the rest of us would have freedom.

As a veteran-founded and led company, we know the sacrifices which have been made in the last half-century alone. From Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan, military servicemembers have answered the call to arms. And so many have sacrificed their lives.

It is in their memory that Parabilis proudly serves so many veterans – servicemembers who have felt and seen the loss of their brothers and sisters in arms. And it is in their memory that veteran values have led us since our founding, directing everything from who we hire to how we treat our clients.

This Memorial Day, America fights a different war than any in the last century – a pandemic which has ripped through our culture and economy, and which has killed nearly 100,000 people. But we can still reflect and learn from the sacrifices made at Manassas and Normandy, in Kabul and Baghdad, where young men and women put nation over self in the ultimate fashion. And it is in their memory that we solemnly pause today, even for a moment, to reflect on how our nation wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for those same young people’s sacrifices.
