Last week, we were joined by Fernando Machado, President of Cybersec Investments. He is our resident expert for cybersecurity, specifically CMMC, and he sat down with us to discuss some of the biggest issues regarding this regulatory process.

CMMC was preceded by NIST 800-171, which requires government prime and subcontractors with DFARS 252.204-7012 clause in their contractual agreement to comply with certain standards as it pertains to cyber hygiene. If you are engaging in commerce with the Department of Defense, or plan to achieve federal contracts in FY ’22, this is a great resource for ensuring you are compliant with cyber requirements for this purpose.

CMMC is still under construction, but NIST 800-171 is not. Understand the requirements of both and where you need to be focused today. We will trace what you need to have done now, and where you need to be heading in the coming months ahead, so be sure to tune in!
