I come from a family of entrepreneurs, so I have a true passion for helping small business leaders be successful. I have seen the sacrifice firsthand. I have witnessed the late nights and early mornings, the excitement of growth, and the unfortunate closures during COVID. Being a business owner is hard work, but the risk of going out on your own is mitigated when you build a strong team around you. The best business leaders know how important it is to have internal and external “employees” that support their goals and have their best interest at the root of the work they do for you.

Team Parabilis works very hard to build a network of the best of the best in government contracting so we can offer industry leaders and experts within every aspect and every support service that all growing GovCons will need. Last week we hosted the first in our ongoing series of events and shared a panel discussion with 5 top thought leaders and experts in their respective fields. A special thank you to Cherylyn Harley LeBon of Dunlap, Bennett & Ludwig, Kris Brinker of Ocean5 Strategies, Shirley Collier of Scale to Market, Jeff Shapiro of Cohn Resnick, and Parabilis’ own, Evan Henris! Your time, talent, and expertise created an amazing discussion and we have received resounding praise from all in attendance. Additionally, I would like to thank my leadership team, particularly our CEO, Bruce Lyman. Bruce shared his personal experience as a GovCon owner, and the impact of his experience on our audience was palpable to say the least. That’s what these events are all about: sharing experiences so those who attend can learn from the journey of those who have traversed the same trail.

Our discussion focused closely on common needs and misconceptions of growing GovCons with respect to legal, accounting and auditing, finance, scaling and strategic growth, and B2G marketing. A common theme was that your partners need to be well-versed in the government contracting industry so their support is applicable to your work and the ebb and flow of this industry. Our guests were very interactive with questions and were given amazing advice from the panelists.

We are excited to continue this series in the Fall, and invite all interested parties to reach out with topics they would like to see in the next events. We also encourage you to reach out to the esteemed panelists for advice and consultation as they are truly the best of the best at what they do! Stay tuned for upcoming events in the Fall with Parabilis.
