“Its not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game.” ~Grantland Rice
Team Parabilis is particularly proud of our Advisory Board seats held within the Government Contracting Club hailing from the Tower Club in Tyson’s Corner, VA. In the last few months we have sponsored and participated in events that are aimed at educating small government contractors on how to be effective within the industry. Last week, we had an awesome turnout for an amazing event called, “In the KOs Corner,” where 4 contracting professionals from 4 different agencies shared their expertise and advised the govcons that were present on how to be more successful with RFIs and the following acquisition process. How fortunate are those of us that were present to get this invaluable information straight from the source?
We had a solid hour of questions and answers by the actual people doing the buying for the agencies they work for. As a business owner, how impactful would that be for your business development practices? I think this is the tipping point for those that make it in the industry and those that fade away. You can’t think that reinventing the wheel is going to get you far in federal contracting. There is a certain way of doing things that is expected, and although what you don’t know can hurt your chances, there are many resources available to you to get set on the right path. It is with events like these that the fog lifts and the deterrents that keep you from actually winning contracts disappear. And all you have to do is show up.
The connections we all made that day created the convergence of education and opportunity. The information learned will allow for a more successful RFI submission, and the quality banter between panelists and guests eliminated some misconceptions in the process. All in all, it was a fruitful conversation that undoubtedly will result in many successful RFI to RFP and thus contract or subcontract awards. This is what really gets me excited! Our passion as a company lies in giving you access to all of the support you need, and allowing you to choose when, where and how to use it. My advice will continue to be that you need to build your network of resources through attending events like these. Connect with the experts. Connect with the other business leaders in the room. Share your experiences with them and let them do the same with you, and you will without a doubt benefit in that exchange.
If you are in the DMV area, I encourage you to join us at any of the many events ahead. One or all of our team will be present there so you will not be without an advocate there to introduce you around, so come say hello! All of our upcoming discussions could be just what your business needs to take it to the next level and assist you with knocking it out of the park! See you there! https://govcon.club/topics/4975/page/2022-programs
