As we celebrate Thanksgiving this week, I am grateful as I reflect on the past year and all the wonderful people that I have had the pleasure of meeting and engaging with at the many events, conferences, lunches, virtual discussions, and individual meetings I have attended. These connections have filled my heart and uplifted my professional aspirations to heights I never imagined!
In the past week, I was fortunate enough to join an amazing event in Washington, D.C. that brought together several groups for #Unity week. We celebrated our commonalities and our differences and came together with one voice to advocate for further advancement in business growth in the public and private sectors. I am grateful to the leadership team with Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) for selecting me to address this amazing constituency and build a plan together to promote an environment where we can all thrive in our unique spaces.
If you are not familiar, WIPP is
“a nonpartisan organization which educates and advocates on behalf of women-owned businesses. Since its inception in June of 2001, WIPP has reviewed, provided input, and taken specific positions on many economic issues and policies which affect the bottom line of our membership. The issues cover a broad range of current legislation and/or policies such as affordable health care, leveling the playing field for women-owned businesses, opening up federal procurement policies for women-owned businesses, the implementation of well-established federal law which seeks to encourage women in the marketplace, tax policies, energy, telecom, etc. Matters which are not directly relevant to the economic health and well-being of constituent businesses are not part of our agenda. As an organization which represents women business owners, we have within our ranks Republicans, Democrats and Independents, liberals, conservatives and every variety of opinion.”
I was inspired by my many friends within their leadership to not only join the ranks as an individual member but to lead Team Parabilis’ support of WIPP as a Corporate Partner in 2023. I find it not only rewarding but extremely important to link arms with inclusive organizations like this and others that advocate on behalf of promoting profitability and growth strategies for disadvantaged parties and underserved communities. We collectively strive to open doors of access to opportunities and the resources necessary to perform work at the highest level.
It makes me proud to see this community of women-owned businesses working toward the benefit of the collective whole, as we are all truly better together!
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Team Parabilis! From our families to yours, we are truly grateful for your support and continue to be impressed by the impact each individual in our community of business leaders offers to our unified network! Cheers to success ahead for all of us!
